Referrals & Mental Health Treatment Plans (MHTPs)

You do not need a referral to see a psychologist at PAWS Psychology. You’re welcome to self-refer.

However, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates if you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from your GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist.

If you’re unsure:

• You can ask your GP whether an MHTP is appropriate for you or your child, or
• Mention this in your appointment request and our admin team can outline general options for funding and rebates.

(We can’t provide individual Medicare eligibility advice but can give general information about common pathways.)
