Meet Our Furry Friends

Meet Bella and Teddy, Our Groodle Duo

Bella
Bella, our gentle 7-year-old Groodle, is the heart of our pet team. She loves being close to people and is happiest when she’s sitting right next to you or even on your feet. Bella’s caring nature ensures she’s always by your side, ready to offer comfort and companionship.

Teddy
Teddy, our affectionate 6-year-old Groodle, is full of life. She looks like a Golden Retriever but with less shedding. Teddy is Bella’s best friend and partner in fun. She loves people and can never resist a tasty treat. Teddy is excellent at playing fetch and enjoys friendly competition with Bella.

Together, Bella and Teddy are a playful and loving duo, always ready to bring joy to everyone around them. Their combined presence ensures that you will always have a furry friend by your side, offering warmth, fun, and endless affection.

Meet our fabulous felines

Cloud
Cloud is our friendly 6-year-old rescue cat who loves to greet everyone. She’s often found lounging outside, ready to welcome you with a stretch and a request for a pat. Cloud enjoys making cozy burrows in the backyard and surprising the dogs with playful pounces. A true food lover, Cloud appreciates pats while she eats, though she needs a watchful eye to ensure she doesn’t sneak any extra snacks.

Skye
Skye, our adorable 6-month-old ragdoll kitten, is the newest member of our pet team. She’s very talkative and loves to play, especially with scrunchy balls and laser light toys. Skye is incredibly cuddly and enjoys being held like a baby. Her playful and affectionate nature makes her a delightful addition to our practice.

Together, Cloud and Skye bring a perfect blend of warmth and playfulness to our environment. Their combined presence ensures that you will always have a furry friend ready to greet you, play, and provide comfort.

Skye often prefers to approach people on her own terms and she will frequently hide away until she feels comfortable and secure. Skye will approach, but this is usually when she feels confident that she will be ignored and not sought after. For this reason, we now only include Skye by special request with older children and teens and stress that she may not necessarily spend much time with them after an initial cuddle.

Salem

Salem joined the PAWS Psychology family in October 2025 after being lovingly rescued by Rocky Roads Rescue Centre. At just two years old, he had already shown incredible resilience, having survived life on the streets. Despite his tough beginnings, Salem surprised everyone with the sweetest nature — calm, gentle, and wonderfully patient.

Named after the beloved black cat from Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Salem brings a touch of magic wherever he goes. His soothing presence, chatty purrs, and relaxed temperament make him a natural fit for therapeutic work.

Salem is also best friends with our other therapy cat, Shadow. He loves to play and “chat,” and even when Shadow barrels in to steal a treat or gets a little too enthusiastic during playtime, Salem stays unfailingly tolerant and kind. His ability to remain steady, friendly, and composed makes him a comforting companion for children, teens, and adults alike.

Whether he’s curling up beside someone during a session or gently nudging a hand for pats, Salem has a way of helping people feel safe, grounded, and understood.

Shadow

Shadow came to PAWS Psychology as a six‑month‑old rescue from Rocky Roads Rescue Centre, arriving alongside his inseparable best friend, Salem. When he first arrived, Shadow was tiny, underweight, and struggling with serious digestive issues that made it difficult for him to keep food down. Despite his fragile health, one thing was instantly clear — this little cat had a huge personality.

From day one, Shadow was bold, affectionate, and full of attitude in the sweetest possible way. His early challenges understandably made him very focused on food, but with care, treatment, and lots of love, he has grown into a healthy, confident, thriving young cat.

Shadow adores cuddles and will happily curl up on your neck like a warm scarf or gaze lovingly into your eyes as he snuggles in. He’s endlessly playful and creative, often inventing new games to share with Salem. Together they make a joyful, comforting duo for clients.

His enthusiasm, warmth, and deep affection make Shadow a wonderful therapy companion — especially for people who benefit from physical closeness, gentle touch, and the unconditional love that only a cat like Shadow can offer.
